It’s a Messy, Creative Endeavor

Ladies and gentleman, I present to you, my office.
In my defense, a recent study looked at whether working in a messy or neat office had any influence on workers’ behavior and reported that messy-desk people are more likely to break free of tradition. Not only that, but in these conditions, they are able to produce new or fresh ideas and be more creative.
So, as much as I'd like to show you a shiny, clean office space, today, I'm showing your the reality. It's a lovely, sunny room still painted in green stripes by the previous owners. It’s the place where I write, I paint, I sew, and I make messes. It’s a place of meditation, of tears and failure, small victories, and many prayers. One day, I may morph into a consistently successful and neat(ish) person, but let’s be honest. I’m not there yet. And today, I will be okay with that.
