A Working Title

Titles are very fluid when you are writing a novel, often even until the very end of the process. For my latest novel that I'm preparing for publication, I have a working title, which simply means that I've settled on a name for my book ... for now.
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm calling my newest book Quayport, and I'm including a mockup for a book cover in this post. While I like the musical elements of this title, it is, of course, a made-up word. Many of you might pick up on the fact that 'quay' and 'port' both mean the same thing. This was intentional. Also, if you look closely at the image above, you will see that 'Quayport' is repeated several times beneath the original word.
This is the fun, playful part about words and images - they can be layered and work as symbols to support the ideas at play in the story. Readers of Quayport will find that in this particular novel, there is a repeated theme of duplication and so to have that theme represented in the title is extremely satisfying to me.
