Tinder Sky
(2021)
Being betrothed is easy, just so long as you keep as far apart from each other as possible.
Lisebette Blackwood is a girl from two worlds; she attends school in the modern west with self-driving cars and cellphones and returns home to her native home in the pastoral east where electricity is both dangerous and outlawed. But when bad luck strikes (yet again), she must find the fastest route back to her family in order to avoid disaster and under the circumstances, she’s more than willing to use Timothy Easton to get there. Side note; she and Timothy are betrothed. Further side note; neither one intends to keep that contract.
Timothy, however, has suddenly found himself embroiled in political intrigue and has problems of his own. Now, Lisebette must choose between coming to his aid or saving her family’s beloved estate.
Fair warning, however…in the land of lightning, sparks will fly.

From the setting, one country divided by electricity, to the juxtaposition of living one day in an ultra-modern city, the next traipsing through the wild, bandit-filled mountains, and ending up in a Jane Austen-meets-The Count-of-Monte-Cristo world, Tinder Sky leaves you guessing what will happen next!

Praise & Reviews
There is a ton of action and suspense. I thought it reminded me of a mash-up between The Princess Bride and Robinhood.
I am really hoping that there will be more stories coming from this fictional world.
"a book that I wanted to keep reading"

One of the best books I've read this year! Oh I loved it. Lisbette is just the stubborn, determined, hardworking heroine that you can't help but root for. And I loved the setting and plot. The setting is so much fun and very original. The plot moves at a steady pace and if you're paying attention you can figure some surprises out beforehand, but it doesn't take away from the enjoyment. I loved it so much and I hope there is a sequel.
